Traumeel- An all-natural alternative to prevent and heal your tennis elbow

August 6, 2014 by

An all-natural alternative to prevent and heal your tennis elbow is here with the Traumeel!

A few weeks ago I was told about a product called Traumeel. She described it as a natural, homeopathic, anti-inflammatory product without the side effects of ibuprofen. I always knew about homeopathy and that was a form of alternative medicine.

I googled “Traumeel” and what I found was encouraging. The first thing I saw was a definition by the National Cancer Institute (NCI), an affiliate of the National Institute of Health (NIH). NCI described Traumeel as.…”diluted extracts isolated from plants and minerals, including belladonna, arnica, St. Johns wort, and Echinacea. …Traumeel  exhibits anti-inflammatory activity.
Unlike ibuprofen, Traumeel has no known side effects. Also unlike ibuprofen, which is taken orally and can cause abdominal pain and nausea, Traumeel tablets are taken sublingually (under the tongue) and enter the blood stream directly by avoiding the GI track altogether.

Traumeel comes in various forms including tablets and cream for internal use. It can also be applied directly on the skin over an injured muscle or joint using the gel and cream applications. It’s great for any tennis players who are suffering from tennis elbow or golf elbow syndrome. It’s helps speed recovery and reduced the chronic swelling associated with the injury, like tennis elbow. Also, use Traumeel tablets and cream for soar muscle and joints and found them to be an effective anti-inflammatory during heavy training on court and off court.

So whether you are recovering from overuse injury, combating chronic pain and inflammation due to heavy training, Traumeel can be an effective, and it’s all natural remedy.

Best Valued Multifilament Tennis String

June 17, 2014 by

Multifilament strings are great for the players that are seeking a great combination of feel, comfort, power and playability. The biggest advantage of them is higher elasticity and superior playability in comparison to polyester strings which are very popular amongst players today. The disadvantage is string durability as they tend to break quicker. This article is not designed to dive into what multifilament strings are or how they are constructed but instead what are the best-valued multilament stirngs on the market today. We here at The Tennis Depot pride ourselves in offering the highest quality products in the marketplace that comes with the best value and bang for the buck to the consumer.

The ultimate #1 valued multifiament string is the Pro Supex Maxim Touch which many players compare to Wilson Sensation, Wilson NXT, Tecnifibre NRG, Babolat Xcel Premium among many others. We have even gotten some that compared it to the Babolat VS Natural Gut or Pacific and Klip natural gut strings.

Pro Supex Maxim Touch has a multifilament core and is reinforced by outside wrapped fibres. It has a polyurethane coating and increases your sweetspot by 30%. This string is arm friendly and can decrease tennis-elbow problems. Maxim Touch works great as a hybrid as well as a full job. We recommend the 16 gauge if you are seeking durability and playability at the same time. When taking price into equation, Pro Supex Maxim Touch is hands down the absolute best multi string on the market today for its price.

Two other multi’s that offer incredible value are both the Genesis Thunder Blast and Genesis XplosionGenesis Thunder Blast offers amazing repulsion power and controlled spin. Players who come in to the net a lot will appreciate the soft capabilities of this string with its impeccable touch and comfort. Thunder Blast has also some of the best tension retention from any multifilament string thanks to a very unique construction process. The center core utilizes a very elastic monofilament compressed and heated to stretch easily. The outer core is twisted by soft elastic multifilaments. A coating resembling a rough surface is added for increased spin.

Genesis Xplosion is a multifilament string compromised of over 2000 filaments that are bonded and twisted together. Genesis Xplosion offers gut like performance without the premium price of most natural gut strings. Xplosion provides superior resiliency and maximum power. Utilizing special heating and cooling treatments, Genesis has achieved a very arm friendly string that offers great feel and touch. A polyurethane elastometer resin coating provides easier stringing and increased durability.

These 3 strings are without a doubt the best bang for the buck amongst multifilament strings out on the market. Be sure to check them out and let us know your feedback once tested!

Best Co-Polyester Strings for Comfort and Feel

May 8, 2014 by

We have an extensive selection of co-polyester strings that excel when it comes to comfort and feel and our playtesters found that from the strings we offer here at The Tennis Depot, Poly Star Energy, Pro Supex Big Ace Micro, Signum Pro Poly Plasma Pure & Genesis Black Magic lead the way in this department.

Poly Star Energy is the ultimate string in the market for power, comfort and feel. This string is used by former world #3, Nikolay Davydenko and simply has an incredible feel to it. Highly recommended for the player seeking something soft, comfortable and powerful and does not mind stringing often.

Pro Supex Big Ace Micro comes in a thin 18 gauge but still delivers exceptional comfort, spin and feel. A great choice for the person transitioning from the stiffer Luxilon strings or just want something that offers great bite and pop.

Signum Pro Poly Plasma Pure is another fantastic string offering the best control and tension stability while being slightly stiffer than the previous 2 mentioned strings. Another great and popular string with our playtest team along with regular Signum Pro Poly Plasma string

Genesis Black Magic may be the best-selling string of these 4 but still delivers great feel and comfort for a co-polyester string. There is a reason the USRSA rated the Genesis Black Magic as the #2 poly of all-time and #5 of all strings their blind playtest team tested to date: http://www.tennisindustrymag.com/articles/2011/08/15_playtest_genesis_black_magi.html

Best Tennis Strings for Holding Tension

April 7, 2014 by

With the introduction of so many co-polyester strings in the past several years, undoubtedly many co-polyester strings play softer than the first generation strings but many also lose tension very rapidly. Some strings and string brands that come to mind is the Dunlop Black Widow string, Poly Star Energy and Polyfibre Black Venom as just 3 top-selling strings that drop their tension fairly quickly.

We here at The Tennis Depot do carry several strings that are known best for retaining their tension and those are Signum Pro Poly Plasma, Signum Pro Hyperion and Signum Pro Tornado all from Germany-based Signum Pro string brand. Another excellent string we offer for retaining tension is the Genesis Typhoon and Genesis True Grit, 2 excellent shaped and twisted co-polyester strings that maintain their tension. In addition, the NEW Topspin Culex Squarestring (made in Germany) a square-shaped co polyester string, similar to Solinco Tour Bite (made in Taiwan) but holds its tension better!  One last one that comes to mind is the Topspin Cyber Blue. One thing all these strings share in common that they are made in Germany to the highest quality standards and all maintain their tension VERY well, in comparison to other co-polyester tennis racquet strings on the market today.

BEERS ERT 300 Tennis Computer- A Must Have for any Racquet Stringer & Tennis Enthusiast

March 27, 2014 by

Do you care how accurate your string tension really is? Are you a racquet stringer, coach, player or just someone who understands how critical equipment can be for the competitive tennis player? Then the BEERS TECHNIC ERT 300 Tennis Computer is a device that is a must-have for you. Made in Switzerland, the ERT 300 is used by numerous ATP/ WTA Touring pros along with many tour stringers and coaches. A local stringer who has strung the Sony Ericsson Open, the Cincinnati Masters, Indian Wells and the US Open said the following “If you do not use this ERT 300 tennis computer, you are definately missing out from taking your game from good to great. This is a necessity for the beginner to the advanced player”. The ERT 300 is a must for any tennis enthusiast in the 21st century as the ERT 300 quickly and accurately measures the dynamic tension of the string bed of a strung racquet.

The ERT 300 is the best tension diagnostic device in the world. With this device, you will:

  • monitor the actual dynamic tension DT
  • know when it is time to restring
  • determine your optimal stringing tension
  • ensure that your racquets have the same DT for identical playing properties (great for tournaments)
  • determine the playing characteristics such as power and control

What is Dynamic Tension DT?

Dynamic Tension DT is a value of the stiffness of the stringbed. The Dynamic Tension DT is measured automatically with the ERT 300 by electronic simulation of the ball impact.

How Does The ERT 300 Work?

1. The ERT 300 is clipped to the strings
2. Press the start button to trigger automatic measurement
3. Electronic simulation of the ball impact measures and analyzes the vibrations of the strings
4. The DT value is determined and shown on the LCD display
5. Using the supplied DT system, you can find the actual tension

What Is Included?

  • ERT 300 in a soft durable case
  • Manual in 4 different languages (English, Italian, French, and German)
  • DT System Disc (Tension and style of play adviser)
  • 2 batteries

This is an invaluable tool to stringers, coaches, and players. The Tennis Depot uses ERT 300 during all string playtests and without this tool we would not be able to provide accurate information regarding string playing properties.

To purchase your ERT 300 tennis computer, please visit our ERT 300 product page.
